Dennis Brown - Live At Montreux
Dennis Emmanuel Brown belongs to that elite band of reggae artists who have succeeded in achieving a true international stardom. Often hailed today as "Bob Marley's favourite singer". Dennis Brown has managed not only to achieve elusive chart success with 'Money In My Pocket', but has also regularly performed in the United Kingdom and Europe.
This footage captures the artist at the peak of his performing ability during his considerable run of chart successes in 1979. He performed with the outstanding 'We The People' made up of the cream of the Jamaican session world.

The Pirates - Live at Dingwalls 1977
Просмотров 121 тыс.11 лет назад
By the mid-1970's 'The Pirates' were, without doubt, the most popular act on the club circuit in the UK with their reputation rapidly spreading throughout Europe and Scandinavia. However the band had first emerged in 1959 as a backing group to the late, great Johnny Kidd with whom they enjoyed a total of nine chart singles. Their re-emergence as a power rock/rhythm and blues trio took the live ...
I am so happy that this music is a part of my soul❤❤❤❤
❤🇬🇳💯🙏🏿
Good honest Rock'n'roll
Lloyd Parks & We The People, featuring Dean Fraser & the Ras Brass. Every one of these musicians is famous in their own right. The keyboard player, Bubbler Waul, went on to be an awesome producer. Bo Peep played guitar with the Xterminator Band in the 90s - played on Luciano's classics, Bushman's first album etc. Chinna of course played guitar with Bob Marley & The Wailers. Dean Fraser and Nambo are probably the 2 most recorded horn players in Jamaican music, playing on basically everything through the 80s, 90s and 2000s.
not bad these 6'T's & 5T's classic rock'n roll songs , indeed !. ( better mid-6'T's days performance )
What can I say about the legendary Stray Cats the kings of rockabilly ❤ you still in 2023 and beyond.
1 of the best vokals In reggea
❤
Probably Britain's greatest rock band ever pre Zep ❤❤❤❤
We were lucky to have great bands like The Pirates, starting in 1959, and Dr Feelgood in the 70s. There were other balls to the wall revival rockers like Ducks Deluxe, and the Tyla Gang to enjoy too
Wow! Wow! And thrice WOW!. What a performance.
So good. I have the double CD collection.
Macho rock at its best!
Ed Sullivan would have shit his pants.
Not that good
Yeah it’s really not
This was a legendary show Telecaster Custom is the most badass looking guitar ever.I got one after watching Mick !
The Original and the Best. Saw them circa 65.
Strong youth, health, inspiration, talent!
Such heart in his voice 💛
Rastafari Highly high ?
Didn't know Elvis could play guitar this good.

Thé pirates top groupe rock n'Roll
I saw them at one of their Dingwall gigs around the time that this was recorded. I might have actually been at this one!!
Thank you! Got it on VHS. Memories! Thank You, Can someone name the people in the film during the song: Things That Matter Most To Me. Thinking first is Jerry lee Mom. But who are the rest? his buddy Cecil Harrelson?
Шикарно, и каждый удар барабанщика, каждая нота басиста говорит о том, что вы полезли на англосаксов? Будьте добры, получите от англосаксов сполна. Начинают получать. Очень нервенно.
Sonzera hein ! 🇧🇷
First Band I ever saw. Mick Green is to this day the LOUDEST guitarist ever.
So great to see a R'n'R gig with people in the audience actually dancing their asses off! 👍
And not standing there like dicks with their fuckin phones in their hands like today …❤❤
Damn... how could someone like Mick Green escape me until today? This some fu*+ing brilliant guitar work. ❤🔥
He was sensational.

These kind of performances make me love reggae music and live. Salute to one of the best to do it, Dennis Brown.
Nobody comes close to Dennis. Zero! easily the greatest reggae artist and arguably the greatest singer of all times.
I get it about Mick Green and how great he was, but that singer/bass player doesn't get enough credit.
That's Johnny Spence. Keeping that bassline taut, while singing, at that pace.. Phew! The drummer is Frank Farley. Frank was a *beast* on the kit, and much respected. They created quite a legacy.
This is the best live performance I have ever seen from Dennis Brown !! O my
My favourite comment (re. the reason why a guitar bass doesn't come close to upright bass): Lee Rocker "well you can't stand on an electric bass"! Hard to argue with.
Raw power heaven
This is the best raggea show I have seen from D/B
Bloody hell, another killer band I missed at the time.
How I never heard of this band before ??? Great stuff.
Пираты! Ура!
Nobody on the Planet ever rocked as hard as these guys
There's a few others
No group did "in yer face" rock and roll better with the possible exception of Dr Feelgood & it was a fact that Wilko Johnson was greatly influenced by the shamefully underrated Mick Green
Brilliant but please remove the adverts in the middle of the video disrupting songs. Unneeded and ruins it.
The pirates what a ROCKIN Good band. 🎸🎸🎸👍 Love it👍
